Meditation Circle
The Meditation Circle is held every Tuesday from 7:00 – 8:00pm.
The basic format for the sessions (flexible) will be 15-20 minutes of questions/answers and discussion, 20 minutes of breathing practice (diaphragmatic) and systematic relaxation, and 20 minutes of seated meditation practice. The goal of these sessions are to provide basic instruction for meditation and to provide support for participants to develop or continue a consistent meditation practice. Sessions will be led by Pandit Jerome Smith (ERYT – 500).
Along with these weekly sessions we will schedule 4 week meditation courses to go more in depth in the philosophy and practice of meditation. For yoga teachers, these courses will count toward continuing education credits under Yoga Alliance.
There will be books available at the Meditation Circle on the topics of meditation and breathing.

Meditation Courses at UNC Asheville
The purpose of this meditation course is to help the participants develop an ongoing practice of meditation and awareness. We will cover the aspects of breathing, relaxation, posture, and the philosophy of meditation. When applied properly, meditation can greatly increase our ability to focus, quiet the mind, grant us inner peace, and is a doorway to accessing the hidden potential within. When one develops the habit of meditation, that state of mind permeates every aspect of ones life.
The next 6 week course will be held on Thursdays – August 30th through Oct 4th.
